Advisory Council Selection Process

The Advisory Council is the volunteer leadership arm of the Nonprofit Federation. The Council advocates and provides critical insight on key policy issues impacting the nonprofit marketing and fundraising sector. The Advisory Council also works hard to ensure the Federation provides the best member services possible to the membership at large. Serving on this body of volunteer leaders is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future of the nonprofit and fundraising community.

Candidates are sought on a rolling basis. Candidates must be employed by a nonprofit member or Corporate Partner in good standing and have prior experience serving on Nonprofit Federation committees. Advisory Council members serve a two-year term with a maximum of three two-year terms. Members attend up to four meetings annually.  These meetings are usually held in conjunction with Federation conferences.

Applications are then forwarded to the Nonprofit Federation Nominating Committee for review and the Nominating Committee will begin a dialogue with the candidate.
